The energy of non-thermal radiation is not related to the temperature of the body that emitted it, and it is not caused by electrons changing their orbital levels around atoms. An example of non-thermal radiation is synchrotron radiation. Synchrotron radiation occurs when electrons are accelerated through a magnetic field and spiral around the magnetic field lines. As they are accelerated, they emit photons of synchrotron radiation.
